When you're talking about raw almonds, the product may not be quite what you think. All California almonds -- which means nearly all of the almonds in the U.S. -- are either heat-pasteurized or sprayed with a fumigant. The processes are intended to prevent food-borne illness. But some almond aficionados say the treatments change the flavor and mislead consumers. Capital Public Radio's Lesley McClurg has a feature report.
