A two-and-a-half-million square foot logistics facility known as The Gateway Project is on the fast track for development in the Pass community of Cherry Valley, near Beaumont. The Beaumont City Council and many area residents have come out against the project. The property was supposed to be a housing development, but now it'll likely be rezoned industrial to accommodate the developer's new plans for the property. And even with the proposed change in land use, the warehouse project retains it's special "fast track" designation. KVCR's Matt Guilhem explains Riverside County's "fast track" development policy.
