The San Bernardino County high desert city of Adelanto is the latest in a string of local governments to get out of the business of detaining immigrants for the federal government. Last week, Adelanto officials pulled out of it''s contract with and U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), putting the fate of it's largest detention faciltiy in California up in the air.
