Californians who wish to vote in the June primary have until the end of the day [MONDAY] to register. The state has already seen a surge in registration, as Capital Public Radio's Ben Bradford reports.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla says close to a million people in California have registered or updated their information so far this year.

Padilla 1 – What we’re seeing this year is far above and beyond what’s typical for a presidential election year. (7s)

200,000 voters updated or registered early last week.

Padilla 2 - This Monday we saw another spike, I think in large part thanks to Facebook.

The tech giant added a link in users News Feeds.

Voters have until midnight to fill out a registration card online at registertovote.ca.gov, postmark their registration or visit a county elections or DMV office.

No Party Preference voters who wish to mail-in their ballots in the Democratic presidential primary must fill out a form from their county elections office by May 30th.

At the state Capitol, I’m Ben Bradford.
