Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR news contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Rick Dulock review some of the big Inland Empire news stories from the past week:

1. San Bernardino's mayor is in hot water with his city council and constituents over a VIP reception that excluded them.

2. Moreno Valley city council members have decided to leave their late colleague's seat vacant until the November election.

3. The former Fontana deputy police chief is among the men charged in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

4. Two Inland Empire colleges are among 286 organizations receiving millions of dollars this week from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott.
