Study: For More Profit, Edison Intentionally Pushed San Onofre Nuclear Plant Beyond Its Limits

commons.wikimedia.org

The cause of a leak in 2012 that led to the permanent shutdown of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station was steam generators being deliberately run too hot, too hard, and too fast, according to a report released yesterday (Tuesday) by an independent watchdog organization.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has more.

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
