IE News Wrap With Cassie MacDuff: Redlands Slow To Respond To Homelessness; Corona Tax Break Fight

Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Ken Vincent review some of the Inland Empire's top news stories this week, including:

  1. The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has donated over $7 million to build a homeless shelter in San Bernardino.
  2. Meanwhile, Redlands closed its homeless shelter right before the last cold snap, because of code violations.
  3. Corona has come under fire for a sales tax giveback to a clothing company that’s now being sued for failing to pay its supplier.
  4. And three passings: A beloved priest, a longtime mayor, and a trailblazing educator.

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
