Weekly News Review With IE Journalist Cassie MacDuff: Casino Expansion; Salton Sea; School Security

Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Ken Vincent review some of the Inland Empire's top news stories this week, including:

  1. The San Manuel tribe announced plans this week to build a new hotel and concert venue near its reservation in San Bernardino.
  2. California has approved a plan to restore the Salton Sea near Indio, where fish die-offs have become a problem.
  3. The Riverside school district may tighten security after an angry father held a teacher hostage for six hours in a classroom last week.

THIS SEGMENT IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWS GROUP, PUBLISHER OF THE PRESS-ENTERPRISE, SAN BERNARDINO SUN, INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, AND OTHER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWSPAPERS

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
