Weekly News Review With IE Journalist Cassie MacDuff: Chad Mayes; Carousel Mall; Devore Raves

Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Ken Vincent review some of the Inland Empire's top news stories this week, including:

- San Bernardino's downtown Mall has closed; city leaders hope to replace it with shops, restaurants, offices, and housing;

- San Bernardino County Supervisors declines to ban raves at the Glen Helen Amphitheatre in Devore;

- Assembly Republican Leader Chad Mayes has stepped down from his GOP leadership post, after criticism in his caucus for his cap-and-trade vote.

THIS SEGMENT IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWS GROUP, PUBLISHER OF THE PRESS-ENTERPRISE, SAN BERNARDINO SUN, INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, AND OTHER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWSPAPERS

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
Cassie is a Press Enterprise regional columnist blogger.
