State Criticizes -- And Fines -- Redlands, 3 Other SoCal Communities For Not Saving Water

www.cityofredlands.org

The California Water Resources Control Board has fined Redlands the equivalent of $500 a day for 4 months -$61,000 total - for persistently failing to meet state-mandated water conservation goals during the California drought.  Redlands and 3 other urban water users -- Beverly Hills, Indio, and the Coachella Valley Water District -- are the first in the state to receive fines for failing to keep up with the rest of California in cutting water usage.  KVCR's Ken Vincent has more.

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
