The California Water Resources Control Board has fined Redlands the equivalent of $500 a day for 4 months -$61,000 total - for persistently failing to meet state-mandated water conservation goals during the California drought. Redlands and 3 other urban water users -- Beverly Hills, Indio, and the Coachella Valley Water District -- are the first in the state to receive fines for failing to keep up with the rest of California in cutting water usage.
