An investigation by KPCC/LAist takes a deep look at a troubled nursing home chain in Southern California, including several nursing homes in the Inland Empire. KVCR’s Benjamin Purper spoke with the investigative reporters behind the story, Aaron Mendelson and Elly Yu, about the facilities and the "immediate jeopardies" - the highest category of violation possible at a nursing home - reported inside of them. Several of the nursing homes, including Villa Mesa in Upland, are located in the Inland Empire.
