Report: US And Canadian Officials Talked About Combined Military Forces

A recent report from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) says the United States and Canada’s top military generals discussed a plan for an integrated military.

Ultimately, the plan was scrapped, but it is raising political questions in Canada, where voters go to the polls later this month to decide whether Prime Minister Stephen Harper will keep his job.

The CBC reports the civilian government wasn’t involved in the talks.

Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti speaks with James Cudmore, the CBC journalist who broke the story.
