Weekly News Review With IE Journalist Cassie MacDuff: Arson Suspect; Colonies Case; Fwy Toll Lanes

Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Ken Vincent review some of the Inland Empire's top news stories this week, including:

- A former fire Explorer Scout was arrested on suspicion of setting a spate of fires in and around the San Bernardino Valley recently;

- The Colonies corruption case, involving a $102 million settlement with a developer, is wrapping up in the courts this week, and;

- Why are new freeway lanes seldom free? Recent and future projects will be toll lanes. The Press-Enterprise explored why.

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
