California Lawmakers Seek To Overhaul State's Bail Bond System

California’s chief justice said Tuesday the state’s current bail system should be scrapped, calling it unsafe and unfair. Two years ago, authorities in Santa Clara County arrested 31 bail bonds agents for recruiting new clients inside the county’s jails — with the help of inmates.
