Two Inland Empire Democratic state senators responded positively to aspects of Governor Gavin Newsom's State of the State speech yesterday (Tuesday). Here's KVCR's Benjamin Purper.
Senator Connie Leyva, a Democrat from Chino, had this to say about Governor Newsom’s speech:
“As the Chair of both the California Legislative Women’s Caucus and the Senate Education Committee—and a member of the Senate Budget Committee—I appreciate Governor Newsom’s leadership and commitment to increasing investments in education and ensuring accountability for all public schools. We must make sure that our education system works for all students so that they can access the American Dream for themselves and their families.”
Senator Richard Roth, a Democrat from Riverside, said:
“Governor Newsom is an emphatic advocate for our state. A successful partnership between the legislative leadership and the Governor will guarantee that we reach the goals he has drawn out for us. I greatly look forward to tackling the good work ahead of us all and fighting to make sure Inland Southern California receives what it truly needs and rightly deserves.”
