Weekly News Review With IE Journalist Cassie Macduff: Latest SBCo Sheriff Dept Scandal; MoVal News

Longtime Inland Empire journalist and KVCR contributor Cassie MacDuff and KVCR's Ken Vincent review some of the Inland Empire's top news stories this week, including:

  1. The ACLU and the San Bernardino County sheriff last week reached a settlement in a lawsuit over conditions for LGBT prisoners in the jail
  2. A judge in June threw out the entire environmental impact report for the controversial World Logistics Center in Moreno Valley
  3. MoVal is being criticized for spending money on an interchange that would serve the giant warehouse complex long before it will be built
  4. But the good news is, truck traffic by 2022 will be separated from passenger vehicles on the 60 freeway through the Badlands

THIS SEGMENT IS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWS GROUP, PUBLISHER OF THE PRESS-ENTERPRISE, SAN BERNARDINO SUN, INLAND VALLEY DAILY BULLETIN, AND OTHER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NEWSPAPERS

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
