GOP Assemblyman Chad Mayes of Yucca Valley was not only the head of Assembly Republicans, but also the only Inland Empire lawmaker in a legislative leadership position. Then, Mayes decided to cooperate with Democrats, and voted for Governor Brown's cap-and-trade bill, which infuriated Mayes' fellow GOPs.
