Very high temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday are expected in the Banning area as well as the Coachella Valley. Because of triple digit heat, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from Noon Tuesday until 6:00 PM Wednesday and extended the advisory until 8:00 PM Wednesday. Cooling centers will be open in the low desert region with help from local senior centers and others. A list of cooling centers is available on the Riverside County Department of Health website:

Residents are urged to keep hydrated, stay indoors and keep a close eye on children, the elderly and pets.
