California Pot Seller Asks Court To Void Local Bans On Home Marijuana Delivery

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Another legal fight is underway over home marijuana delivery in California.
A cannabis company is suing Santa Cruz County, claiming that it's violating state law by prohibiting deliveries by out-of-county retailers into a swath of unincorporated areas.
The East of Eden Cannabis Co. lawsuit filed last week in Superior Court in Santa Cruz County comes as the latest development in a thorny fight over who decides where pot can be delivered.
In January, regulators endorsed a rule that allows home marijuana deliveries statewide, even into communities that have banned commercial pot sales.
But the cities of Riverside, Beverly Hills, Santa Cruz County and about two dozen other local governments have sued the state to overturn the rule.
Santa Cruz County spokesman Jason Hoppin says the lawsuit attempts to undermine local control over pot sales.
