Suzanne Potter is a journalist with 30 years of experience as a reporter for TV, radio and print news. She spent 15 years as a local TV news reporter in Palm Springs, CA and Providence, RI. She earned a B.A. in Mass Communications from UC Berkeley and spent a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. She lives in Palm Desert, CA, is married with four children and is a longtime leader with the Boy Scouts of America.

  • Work on Gateway to Redwood National Park Winds Down for 2022

    Crews are making progress in building a new gateway to Redwood National Park in Humboldt County. Work has just wrapped up for the year at the site of an old timber mill near the town of Orick. Operations will pick up again next spring, and the site is expected to open to the public in 2026. Jessica Carter is the Orick Mill project manager for the Save the Redwoods League, which owns the land. She says visitors will get to enjoy a host of new features.
  • Fight for Affordable Insulin Continues During National Diabetes Month

    November is National Diabetes Month – and more than 3-point 2 million Californians have been diagnosedwith the disease, according to the American Diabetes Association. People with diabetes make up more than ten-and-a-half percent of the adult population, and another 33 percent, or 10-point-3 million people, have highblood sugar levels that signify pre-diabetes. Dr. Nicole Brady is chief medical officer for UnitedHealthcare. Shesays the rising cost of insulin is putting many patients in a bind.
