ONT Terminal 4 Evacuated Briefly This Morning After Unattended Bag Spotted

ABC7.com (KABC / TSA)

There was a brief security scare at Ontario International Airport early this morning, prompting the precautionary evacuation of airport Terminal 4 for just less than an hour.  As KVCR's Ken Vincent reports, the incident was a false alarm, and all ended well.

[UPDATE:  Authorities say the evacuation of the ONT terminal was ordered after TSA security agents found a fake hand grenade in a passenger's carry-on bag.  Although there was no danger to anyone at the airport, KABC TV in Los Angeles reported that bomb squad crews removed the fake grenade from the airport grounds and were expected to dispose of it.]

Ken Vincent has retired. We appreciate the way he shared his expertise with many of our young interns and reporters over the nearly eight years he spent as KVCR's lead journalist and Morning Edition host. We wish him a happy and relaxing retirement as he spends more time in his garden and, as he mentioned, more time on the golf course. Thanks Ken!
