Rick Dulock is originally from Gainesville, Florida. He fell in love with NPR as a student board operator for 91.9 KVCR in 1996 and since then has worn many hats including Development Director and Pledge Producer. Rick has served as Program Manager since 2011 and is currently working on bolstering KVCR's Weekend Showcase with limited series and unique public radio offerings.

April is organ donation month and today, April 5, is California's first-ever Organ Donor Registration Day.  KVCR's Rick Dulock provides insight into organ donation  in our state and how to sign up.  He spoke yesterday to tom Mone, CEO of One Legacy - one of four organ recovery programs in our state.  The four organizations together make up the State Registry and are working this month, and today specifically, to focus public attention on organ donor registration.

KVCR's Rick Dulock shares something unique about one of the nominated films and an actor who might have something to say about diversity and indigenous people at the Oscars this Sunday.

On Monday, December 28th at the San Bernardino Valley College Auditorium, there'll be a benefit concert for the victims of the shooting on December 2nd.  The concert will include classical works, opera, and more.  KVCR's Rick Dulock spoke to Crista Stevens of Redlands Opera Theatre, as well as Manuel Alberto Aybar, organizer and Artistic Director of the concert.

Dr. Shirin Ebadi was the first Iranian woman to achieve chief justice status and served as president of the city court of Tehran from 1975 to 1979.  She was dismissed from the bench after the Islamic Revolution in February, 1979.  Following dismissal, Ebadi entered private practice and began defending dissidents.  She has been arrested several times.  In 2003, Shirin Ebadi became the first Muslim woman -- and the first Iranian -- ever awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.

Very high temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday are expected in the Banning area as well as the Coachella Valley. Because of triple digit heat, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from Noon Tuesday until 6:00 PM Wednesday and extended the advisory until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
